Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) is an environmental journalism competition that gives young people the opportunity to speak on environmental issues they feel strongly about through writing, photography, podcasts, and videos. Join a network of more than 500,000 young people worldwide speaking up for the environment.
Suitable for youth groups, home educators, school photography clubs or yearbook groups, Eco-Committees and uniform groups like Scouts or Girl Guides. Young Reporters for the Environment is for young people interested in a future career in journalism, advocacy, or the environment and is based on a set of Four Elements. All entries are judged in the Scottish competition and winners are forwarded to an international competition along with 43 other countries. Deadline for Entries is Earth Day 22 April. Resources and workshops are available to support.
