The Chief Scout's Diamond Award is available for Explorer Scouts and Scout Network aged between 15 and 24. It follows after the Chief Scout's Platinum Award (although direct entry is possible) and precedes the Queen's Scout Award. Completion of this award will demonstrate commitment, determination, team work, leadership and will help participants to be more adaptable, confident, resilient and learn new skills for life. All recipients receive a formal certificate and badge to wear on their uniform.

By completing the Chief Scout’s Diamond Award, a young person can also fulfil the requirements for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Silver Award.
The Chief Scout’s Diamond Award will typically require a weekly commitment over a minimum 6-month period to meet the requirements of the award. The weekly commitment will be to activities such as physical recreation, skill and volunteering. Additional commitments such as weekends will be required for expeditions and nights away experiences.
The Chief Scout’s Platinum Award is recognised by the presentation of a certificate and a badge that can be worn on Scout uniform.
