The President's Badge is completed during Year 4 of Company Section. To achieve the award the young person will: - Have good attendance for one session - Be recommended by the company captain - Participate in a non-residential teamwork skills experience - Complete a Christian faith development course and either : Route A - Complete at least 30 points from the Discover programme (Company Section awards programme), having gained three badges in the last 12 months; - take part in an activity-based residential event within the BB - Complete 10 hours of practical service for the Brigade or church OR : Route B - Gain The Bronze DofE Award. - Young Volunteer Award
The Boys’ Brigade delivers a varied and balanced programme over 4 sections – Anchors (P2 - P3), Juniors (P4 – P6), Discover (P7 – S3) and Challenge Plus (S3 – S6). Throughout their time in the 4 sections the young person will work towards a series of awards, with progression evident as they move from section to section. Whilst in the Company Section, the young person can complete the President’s Badge, the second highest award in the BB, as part of the Discover programme.
Completion of a series of awards over one full session (approx. 25 - 30 weeks)
Attend non-residential teamwork skills course - 4 hours
undertake Christian Faith development course - 6 hours
Undertake service within the BB or Church - at least 10 hours
Presentation of a President’s Badge, which can be worn in BB uniform and a certificate, signed by the Brigade president. The presentation will be made at an event within the company, and in some areas at a wider local event with their peer group.
