News Round-up of 2024-25

This March 2025 edition of our newsletter shares some of the highlights from the past year.

As we look ahead to the 2025/26 academic year, this newsletter celebrates the incredible impact of youth awards in Scotland, with a remarkable 150,747 awards achieved in 2024/25. Collaboration within the Awards Network not only enriches all of the 90 awards opportunities on offer, but also fosters active involvement in national-level policy and education reform to ensure that Scotland’s young people are equipped for future challenges. By coming together as youth awards providers, collectively we are diversifying Scotland's learning landscape. Just one example of the many benefits is the work done by Awards Network members to create interactive pathways connecting young people to experiences and vital skills across four key themes – Nature, Industry, Adventure & Leadership, Rights & Responsibilities. This is why youth awards providers are such vital partners in the development of the National Profiling tools, ensuring that skills gained from all forms of learning can be validated and built upon. A recent collaboration with Young Scot has introduced additional forms of recognition for learning, offering Scotland's young people ways to exchange their achievements for goods and discounts. You will also find examples of two new programmes listed on our national awards database. The addition of the SCQF Ambassador programme and Powering Futures illustrates the diversity of opportunities accessible through our 'Awards Finder'. Together, we can empower our young people and pave the way for a brighter future—let’s embrace the possibilities ahead!
