Following extensive research with head teachers across the UK and the success of our qualifications in sports leadership, we have introduced the Leadership Skills Programme - a formally recognised leadership qualification that can be delivered through maths, english & science.
The SCQF Level 5 qualifications is delivered over the course of 10 hours that compliments the national curriculum, learners learn to deliver basic sessions to younger students, gaining a nationally recognised qualification in the process. Our specially designed worksheets and resources will help students to learn invaluable leadership skills, improve personal & academic confidence and prepare for engaging in peer-to-peer learning. Organisations can register learners across all 3 subjects areas or focus on one or two where required.
Young people undertaking a qualification in Leadership skills will learn and demonstrate important life skills such as effective communication and organisation whilst learning to lead a basic subject based session/activities to younger people, their peers within a school or community setting.
The courses involve both guided & peer-to-peer learning and supervised leadership to ensure that learners have all the skills they need to lead subject based activities/sessions to other people.
Your organisation will benefit from creating a cohort of young leaders who can be role models for other students and improve your organisation’s standing in the local community.
The Leadership Skills Programme is aimed at anyone wishing to develop their leadership skills, using core subjects as the method of engagement and delivery. They can be delivered in a variety of settings: schools, youth groups or community groups. The Leadership Skills Programme is perfect for any student, but has been particularly successful as an intervention tool for those struggling with core-curricular subjects, or as an enhancement for strong academic students who can look to engage with peer-to-peer learning. There are no entry requirements, upper age limits or restrictions on who can complete a Qualification in Leadership Skills (please see table below for minimum age requirements)
How long will it take to deliver?
The length of time taken to deliver the Qualification is 10 hours from the tutor. There are additional hours required by the learner. You can deliver any of the qualifications in a variety of ways to suit your programme - over several days, part of a longer term programme or weekly sessions.
Learners must also complete a number of voluntary hours to demonstrate their learning within their school or community.
This qualification has been credit rated at Level 5 on the SCQF providing recognition for learning.
In addition, our qualifications have been awarded Insight Tariff points to support raising attainment and addressing the attainment gap in schools.
